Telling the events from Carlotta's POV is a very interesting and unique way to go about it. X3 And yeah, I felt kind of sorry for her too. Present tense is a good way to portray this. I really like the final sentences and the images they create of her staying in the burning inferno. I'd wondered what happened to her after the chandelier came down and she found Piangi. Poor guy didn't deserve to die.
And seriously, am I the only person who didn't even think she sang that bad? XD; She wasn't offkey or anything like that, that I could hear.
